Food in Spean Bridge
We are lucky to have several places to eat in the village – though we haven’t yet tried all of them, we can let you know what others think of them. We strongly recommend that you phone to book ahead of time, as these places will likely have fewer tables available than before.
The Bridge Café does great big breakfasts to set you up for a full day.
Russell's at Smiddy House (01397-712335) This came highly recommended to us by the previous owners – partly because the host is very welcoming, and partly due to the good food.
The Old Station (07799 712072 before 2pm; 01397 712535 after) The Victorian station building on the station platform has been converted into a bar and restaurant. There’s a lovely public bar, often with live music, and with real ale from the Cairngorm Brewery.
The Old Pines (01397 712324) Up by the Commando Monument, the Old Pines restaurant has received excellent reviews – though it’s on the more expensive side. This definitely requires booking ahead now.
The Woollen Mill has a café for teas and cakes. Can be busy.
